The fauna present in Tejeda, as well as in the rest of the island of Gran Canaria, is not dangerous. <br /><br />The "Lagarto Gigante de Gran Canaria" (Gran Canaria’s Giant Lizard) spends its days under the sun because its body cannot warm the blood. <br /><br />At the same time, the kestrel, aware of this habit of the lizard, spends its day suspended in the air waiting for any opportunity to hunt down one of its favourite prey.
